Travelling is usually a fun thing to do but sometimes it would be great to have a little bit of help. And this time we are going to check some of the travel and food (recipes) applications. Why food applications? Why not? Those are good for every occasion.

Here is a list of 21 mobile applications and a bonus gadget at the end of the list.

First Aid – American Red Cross

No matter what you do or where you planning to go it’s important to stay safe or be prepared for any possibility. What Red Cross did was to create few mobile applications that might help you in emergency situations. Please visit Red Cross website to check the complete list of their apps.

Ready for your next trip? Great! But at the same time you are not so good in packing for the trip? No worries, there are many applications that can help you with that. And Packing Pro is doing a great job. This app allows you to create detailed lists of what need to be packed.

AirBnB

If you are ready to plan your next trip on your own and yo want to try something different than a hotel, AirBnb is a good app to start with. This app (also you can check their website) offers over 2 million listings in more than 34,000 cities (according to AirBnB GooglePlay Store description). Whether you are looking for a tiny apartment in New York or a place by the sea, this app is great source.

Uber

Need a ride? If not taxi, then maybe a Uber ride? Connect your credit card or PayPal to Uber app, and your fare will be charged automatically at the end of your ride. Using the app you can book a ride, see who the diver is (his/hers photo), what car they drive and how far they are from you (map). Oh and before you g, you get the a fare estimate.

Rome2Rio

You need to know what forms of transportation is the best for specific part of your trip? Check Rome2Rio app. All you have to do is to type name of the city or address as your destination and the app will show you train, flight, bus, etc. and driving options with estimated travel time and fares. So next time you try to figure it out whether you should book a flight or go by train – Rome2Rio might help with the decision.

Not sure what to do or looking for some deals? Check TravelZOO app. Travel, entertainment and local deals that’s what TravelZOO offers. Type the location and the app will show you what’s available out there.

Google Translate

In case you travel to a foreign country and don’t speak their language you might want to try Google Translate app. Easy app to use, just type to translate to 90 languages. You can also use your smartphone camera to translate text (e.g.: signs) instantly in 26 languages. That’s not enough?  How about two-way automatic speech translation in 40 languages? The only thing that you need to make sure is to have Internet connection available to use this app.

On the road again? Need some help with finding what’s where? This app helps you to search for interesting places around you and plan your trip. In case you don’t have internet connection you can have access to offline maps to search and navigate. Maps in 220 countries and territories and transit schedules for over 15,000 cities.

Need help to plan your next Disney adventure? This app can do that and more. Real-time wait times, park hours, characters greetings, parade show times, event and tour descriptions. GPS-enabled map to explore Walt Disney World Resort and see dining options, attractions and what’s near you. Browse restaurants menus, make dining reservations or edit existing ones. Select and edit your party’s FastPass+ . So much in one app from the “happiest place on Earth”.

Do you love watching movies? Great! Netflix app is the right for you. It’s one of the most popular subscription services for watching show and movies on your mobile devices. App is for free but you need to subscribe (get membership) and then you have unlimited access to TV shows and movies. Well…the only limitation is your internet connection. You can browse titles or search for your favorites.

If you are not sure if you want to use this app, you can always one-month free trial. And if this app is not enough for you there’s always Hulu and Roku apps you should try.

You never know if you need quick access to some important files and you don’t want to (only) keep them on-line not knowing when you are going to have internet access.
